robb says
who do you guys think the worst ref is? I say jeff triplette.
Rich Kalahiki says
i say most refs has something negative……but i think ed hochuli does a good job
Steve says
I don’t think they’re the “worst”, but controversy seems to follow Ron Winter and Triplette. I personally don’t care for Pete Morelli ( and he has had his share of screw ups) but the NFL seems to like him.
Rich Kalahiki says
yeah man totally agree with u
James says
It’s all subjective. I don’t like Coleman or Triplette. Winters is meh.
Janna85 says
Which official are off this week?
tommy says
jerome boger
Leroy says
Boger was off week 2 I doubt he has another bye week this early in the season
Preth says
Just ignore this Tommy fellow. He’s just answering questions randomly.
Marty says
Tony Corrente’s crew is off this week.
JOE83 says
Just remember; this week three crews are off because four teams has his bye week. It helps to know who are the crews off.
John 2 says
SIX teams are off, so four crews will be off this week.
Baltimore, Cleveland, Dallas, Miami, St. Louis and Washington are the teams that are off this weekend.
JOE83 says
My mistake John 2; yes, four crews off this week. Sorry.
Ray says
Clete Bakeman doing Monday night game according to Brad Biggs’ twitter – http://twitter.com/#!/bradbiggs.
Ray says
Should say Bakeman doing Bears-Lions on Monday night.
Nita says
Hochuli has the seahawks at New York Giants on Oct. 9.
Rich Kalahiki says
hey nita sup girl
Nita says
Yea Rich whats up? Whats happening with your football team? Mine (Vikings) is already down the tubes this year. Oh well, us Minnesota sports fans know very well how to say”THERES ALWAYS NEXT YEAR”
Rich Kalahiki says
Mines is the Pats…..doing good, and hope they smoke the JETS tomorrow haha
robb says
best ref?
who do you guys think is the best ref?
Steve says
I don’t know if there is a “best” but my top 5 would have to be: Steratore, Parry, Hochuli, McAulay, and Mike Carey. These guys have the best control of the games they officiate and seem to avoid controversy ( save Steratore and Calvin Johnson last year, but he got that call right by the book)
Dan says
I agree with the names you mentioned, all good ones. I think Walt Anderson and Tony Corrente are up there, as well. For the most part, I think most of the current group of referees are good. The only ones I’m not a fan of are Ron Winter and Jeff Triplette
Steve says
Agree, Anderson and Corrente would be the next two I mentioned. Both have worked SBs and Conf. Champs without issue.
Rich Kalahiki says
i also agree to that steve
James says
Mike Carey. Did a great job in SB 42 and never seems to have any controversial calls. Corrente, Anderson, and Leavy. Yes I know all about Seahawks/Steelers but aside from that Leavy is a very solid referee.
Ashley says
Plus he’s the sexist.
Ashley says
SEXIEST I MEAN. DAMN.
Mark says
It’s true, Leavy has a great reputation overal. I’m not sure what happened on Super Bowl XL, but at least he had the backbone to stand up admit his goofs. He lost points with me after that game, but gained them back when he manned up. That’s something you’ll never see, say, Walt Coleman do. Ever…
Mike says
Tony Corrente is off for week 5.
Gene Steratore will be in Gilette Stadium this weekend.
Russ says
False, Steratore worked the Jets@Raiders two weeks ago so he is ineligible for that game. Don’t post unless you have confirmation please.
Preth says
Confirmed:
John Parry has Saints-Panthers.
Preth says
Sorry, I didn’t mean to put this in a reply to Russ/Mike.
Biffer says
Steratore has Denver/San Diego
tommy says
Thought Steratore was in NE. Preth is this right?
Biffer says
This is right. I am 100%
Preth says
Russ was correct above, Steratore is ineligible to work the NE game.
Preth says
Confirmed:
Walt Coleman has Eagles-Bills.
tommy says
YUCK! Michael Dick and the 3rd worst ref out there!
Shane Spencer says
I hope Ron Winter gets the NYJ @ NE game…
Rich Kalahiki says
why?
Texans_00 says
It is Thursday night 10:43pm CST, I see only 6 names for 13 games. So half the games aren’t known 72 hours before they go off, I know you guys work hard to bring us this information. But as a fan would like to know if we get a pro referee or 2nd year Blakeman, believe me I now dread 2 inexperienced referees (Cheffers & Blakeman). Too bad there isn’t an NFL minor league so when they step on field, we get experience not 2nd coming of Howdy Doody
Preth says
This is not a good week to provide you with that information. Information can normally be provided for 5/6 of the teams with a bye this week, the exception being Cleveland. Information can normally be provided for both Tennessee and Walt Anderson, and for both Chicago and Detroit.
Jake says
The Crews know their schedule 4 weeks out. Either you know someone on the crew or know others who might know their schedule.
matt says
whose the ref for the Green Bay vs. Atlanta game?
hot spot says
Bill Leavy
ChuckX777 says
Hope we can figure out Tampa Bay-San Francisco!
Thanks for the info provided each week.
david says
Down to
Leavy
Steratore
Carey
Green
McAulay 0r Corrente for the TB- SF game
jc says
Morelli has the Houston/Oakland game
Mike says
Just saw that on the Texans Flipcard posted on twitter.
hot spot says
Mike,
Who is the U listed in that game? Ruben Fowler left the game last week with an injury and if he is still out, they might list an U from a bye week crew as a substitute.
david says
Morelli has Oakland- Houston game. from BTFS
david says
Sorry, didn’t see the above before I posted.
jc says
Leavy’s Ump is listed in the Houston Game so likely that Leavy is Off this week
Scott says
Riveron has Bengals-Jaguars per the Cincy beat writer’s twitter feed.
Preth says
I love that guy. Great beat writer, Joe Reedy. Very dedicated and willing to talk to / answer questions from everyday fans about his team. I remembered he provided a previous officiating crew without prompting, so asked for the heck of it.
Josh says
who’s doing jets@pats?
david says
Jets@Pats Down to
McAulay
Triplette
Boger
Winter
John says
Steratore in Denver
Gerry says
This would be Steratore’s first regular season game in Denver.
He has now officiated at every teams home game.
Big O says
Steratore is in Denver for Chargers-Broncos game
Mark says
I’m going to assume Leavy and Corrente are both off, based on what you guys are saying. If that’s true, here are the remaining possibilities:
AZ/MIN — Carey Green
TB/SF — Carey Green McAulay
NYJ/NE — Triplette Boger McAulay Winter
GB/ATL — Triplette Boger McAulay Winter
Preth says
And it’s a pretty safe assumption that Boger has a game, meaning at least one of Triplette and Winter do not.
hot spot says
Triplette’s next screw up will be on SNF. He is the WORST referee out there and cant get it through his pea sized brain to quit. He threw the penalty flag in the Cleveland player’s eye, complained about it raining during a game last year, then had no idea where the new kickoff line was.
At least a few years ago when he got in the way of a Jets player, the player slammed him down to the ground instead of twisting his ankle trying to run around him.
Preth says
Confirmed: Triplette has Packers-Falcons.
Thus, I am 99% sure that Boger has Jets-Patriots.
Rich Kalahiki says
hey are u definitely sure on this info bro
Preth says
If you mean Boger for Jets-Patriots, it’s like I said, about 99% sure. He had a week off in Week 2, and most referees get two weeks off, but the odds that Boger was scheduled for both of his in the first five weeks are pretty tiny.
That said, because Triplette has Packers-Falcons, Jets-Patriots is the only remaining game that Boger is eligible for.
Ryan says
Your absolutely right. Boger is in New England.
Rich Kalahiki says
hey preth is that definitely confirmed that triplette is in atlanta?
Preth says
Have I ever said “confirmed” when it was wrong?
Rich Kalahiki says
right on preth awesome info man
bfurze says
Scott Green has ARIZ @ MINN
Preth says
Mickey, here’s a summary of all remaining assignments, now confirmed:
Scott Green: ARI-MIN
Jeff Triplette: GB-ATL
Jerome Boger: NYJ-NE
Terry McAulay: TB-SF
football geed says
mcauley has sf and tb
Gerry says
Triplette’s first game in Atlanta since 2005

Hello would you mind stating which blog platform you’re working with?
I’m looking to start my own blog in the near future but I’m having a tough time selecting between BlogEngine/Wordpress/B2evolution and
Drupal. The reason I ask is because your design seems different then most blogs
and I’m looking for something completely unique. P.S Apologies for
getting off-topic but I had to ask!
