Shane Spencer says
I see.
Janna78 says
Bronson since the referees were locked out, is the NFL using the replay officials that the referee would have had if there had not been a lockout??
Joe Platania says
Two votes for Riveron here in BAL and one for Coleman… for what it’s worth, Riveron did the AFC title game (BAL-NE) last year and Coleman did BAL-PIT in midseason and CLE-BAL in Wk 16… seen a lot of these two lately…
Nita says
Hochuli is in Tennessee thurs. evening.
Preth says
Thanks Nita, glad you caught the TNF assignment early!
Brian says
Titans game notes agree.
Mike says
I guess we were all wrong about our predictions for DAL@BAL as the Referee is Mike Carey
Joe Platania says
Yep, Mike, we can confirm that here. Nice work!… Carey had the NYJ-BAL Sunday-nighter last year and the BAL-KC playoff game in 2010. He also threw Suggs out of a 21-penalty loss in Detroit in 2005…
John says
Walt Coleman in Tampa
Preth says
Good to see you again, John. Thank you!
Kenneth says
since I usually start doing this around week 5/6 when it gets narrowed down to only a few officials eligible per game, I wasn’t going to list who can work what game, but I am bored at work, so here is who cannot work each game.
Pitt-Tenn –> confirmed Hochuli
Oak-Atl –> NOT PM, BL, EH, MC or WC
Cin-Cle –> NOT GS, CB, EH, MC or WC
StL-Mia –> NOT SG, JP, EH, MC or WC
Indy-NYJ –> NOT TC, WA, SG, EH, MC or WC
Det-Phil –> NOT CB, RW, TC, EH, MC or WC

NE-Sea –> NOT JP, TM, GS, EH, MC or WC
Buf-AZ –> NOT JP, SG, JB, EH, MC or WC

Min-Was –> NOT CB, AR, JT, BL, EH, MC or WC
GB-Hou –> NOT CC, JT, WA, SG, EH, MC or WC
Den-SD –> NOT CC, BL, PM, GS, EH, MC or WC
not likely to have the week off: JB, TM, AR
won’t have week off: EH, WC, MC
my picks:
Pitt-Tenn: CONFIRMED ed hochuli

NYG-SF: Pete Morelli
Min-Was: Scott Green
GB-Hou: Ron Winter
Den-SD: Clete Blakeman
Kenneth says
also, as I was rereading this I noticed a geographical trend; by pure coincidence, I have nearly every white hat near his home (except for Winter and Cheffers)
my picks:
Pitt-Tenn: CONFIRMED ed hochuli
Oak-Atl: Jerome Boger (from Atlanta)
Cin-Cle: Carl Cheffers (from Cali)
StL-Mia: Al Riveron (from Miami)
Indy-NYJ: John Parry (from Ohio)
Det-Phil: Terry McAalay (from Baltimore?)
Dal-Balt: CONFIRMED mike carey
KC-TB: CONFIRMED walt coleman
NE-Sea: Tony Corrente (from Cali)
Buf-AZ: Bill Leavy (from Cali)
NYG-SF: Pete Morelli (from Cali)
Min-Was: Scott Green (from Northern VA)
GB-Hou: Ron Winter (from Michigan)
Den-SD: Clete Blakeman (from Nebraska)
Bronson says
Winter had a Sunday night game i go against him doing texans
Matt Baehner says
When was the last time Pete Morelli worked a Bengals game? I see him doing that this season.
Ben says
Confirmed for Lions-Eagles: Bill Vinovich.
Really!
http://www.footballzebras.com/2012/10/10/4727/
Preth says
Quite cool. Thanks!
Mike says
He will be working with Scott Green’s crew
casey says
Wow so great to see Bill Vinovich back. Great news. I wish he would take over fulltime for Carl Cheffers who in my opinion is the worse ref.
Mike says
Actually based on assignments in last year’s playoffs the worst ref in 2011 was Jerome Boger or Scott Green (the only two R not to receive either an on field assignment or an Alternate)
Ben says
Scott Green was injured late in the season, so that was probably the reason for his exclusion, not because of merit.
SportingBecky says
I agree with Ben… his knee meaning Scott Green
Ben says
Alberto Riveron for Bills-Cardinals.
Bryon Boston is subbing also in Vinovich’s game at LJ for the retired Barnes. That means Walt Anderson’s crew likely has the week off.
Gerry says
Is Bill Vinovich filling in for another ref? I apologize if I missed a prior thread
Preth says
He has Scott Green’s crew, which implies he’s filling in for Green.
Bob says
NFL Officiating Schedule
Atlanta == McAulay
Cleveland= Morelli
Miami= Steratore
Phi= Vinovich
Bal= Carey
TB= Coleman
Sea= Blakeman
Ari= Riveron
SF= Parry
Was= Corrente
Hou= Boger
SD= Triplette
Anderson, Cheffers, Winter (OFF)
Ben says
That matches up with the ones I was going to post here.
One other interesting tidbit: Jeff Lamberth is substituting on Jeff Triplette’s crew at SJ. If I’m not mistaken, this is his first regular season game since 2010.
Preth says
Thanks, Bob. 🙂
Tari Warren says
How come Mike Carey never gets to be a ref for Redskins game in Washington?
Preth says
There are several possible reasons, and I don’t know which is correct offhand. Perhaps he chooses not to, perhaps a past Redskins game was controversial, perhaps it’s random chance.
Kenneth says
i can’t recall him having anything controversial with the Skins, but just fyi, his last game was MIN@WAS in 2006. (wk1)
Mark says
It has something to do with the Redskins VS Tampa Bay playoff game where he ejected the late Sean Taylor (RIP) in a very controversial call.
Mark says
I can now officially confirm (according to his HL) that Walt Anderson is off this week. Sorry I didn’t get this on here sooner. Good job guys.
Dr. Chuey says
Does anyone know if Mr Green is hurt again?
Preth says
At the moment, all we can do is speculate. Let’s see if he misses his crew’s next game in Week 7/8, then go from there.
Matt Baehner says
Just wondering if Bill Leavy never works games at Seattle because of Super Bowl XL.
Preth says
Yes. And Leavy resumed working games in Seattle last season in Week 14.
Russ says
He also did a rematch of the Steelers-Seahawks Super Bowl during week 2 of last season.
bob says
If it was already poseted I apologize for the question – when was the last time that Bill Vinovich worked? Assuming it has been a while (at least a couple of years) and that he, like all of the others, did not get reps in pre-season, how rusty will he be?
Mike says
Last worked on the field in the playoffs after the 2006 season. However, he has served as a Replay Assistant and Observer/Supervisor in the intervening years so it is not like he has been totally out of the game
Shane Spencer says
Mickey, those dates listed on this page should be in bold, OK?

Hello there! This post couldn’t be written much better!
Looking at this post reminds me of my previous roommate!
He continually kept talking about this. I am going to forward this post to him.
Fairly certain he’s going to have a very good read. I appreciate you for sharing!
