I’m not sure exactly what the rules are, but i was at the jets vs patriots (buttfumble) game in ny last thanksgiving and mike carey was the ref. does that affect his status for thursday night?

No it does not. For example I believe the Giants have had Scott Green officiate one of their Cowboys games each of the last 2 years (and there was a time a few years back I think they got Bill Leavy in Dallas in consecutive years)

As a referee, Terry McAulay has officiated many games involving either the Minnesota Vikings or the Chicago Bears, but never between those two teams…I hope he gets the MIN @ CHI game, a classic NFC North rivalry.

Mickey or Joe, why not defer on posting names until you know FOR SURE who’s reffing a game?

Gang, from the Ravens themselves: it’s BILL VINOVICH to work CLE-BAL… He’s the same guy who had the white hat for the double-overtime playoff game in Denver last year.

I don’t know if you watched the Buf/Car game but during the 3rd qt the Panthers line up for a punt on a 4th & 18 on their own 23. Questionable holding on the Bills (actually looked like Carolina hold) that gives Carolina 5 yards & automatic 1st down. I’ll concede that those things happen but after Carolina scores a TD a couple plays later the official that threw the flag goes to the Caroline side line & fist bumps the coach in a congratulating gesture alone with a pat on the back! Has anyone ever seen this before in a NFL game?

I wonder who from Walt Coleman’s crew did that with Ron Rivera. It reminds me of when Jerome Boger high fived Vince Young during a Monday Night game 4 years ago. Hadn’t heard about this till I read it.

The bad call at GB @ SF will probably cost Bill Leavy a shot at the Super Bowl. I’m sure he’ll get points deducted for it. It was such a high profile mistake and the NFL is getting an earful about it. Remember, last year, Jerome Boger appealed his points deduction and won the Super Bowl job because of it? He had a perfect score at end of season.

Some people know people who are privy to certain assignments. The league is trying to keep this information embargoed until gameday, so we shouldn’t reveal who our sources are. Those who have a consistent record of passing on correct information have their information added to the list above.
